2014 is now well underway and we hope you’re back in the swing of a new year.

The Register4 team certainly is, and we are delighted to kick-start the year by announcing that Register4 has been opened up to assist research across all cancers; including men’s cancer and those that might be less well understood and under-resourced.

Our reason for opening up Register4 to all cancer is two-fold. Firstly, the success to date with projects we have completed, and secondly, the number of researchers who have heard of this success and approached us to use Register4 to recruit participants for other cancer projects.

We are very conscious that you joined Register4 to participate in breast cancer research and whilst our main focus on research into breast cancer will not change, we cannot ignore the fact that our understanding of how cancer evolves at the molecular level has greatly improved over recent years. We have seen a shift towards research that spans across different cancers rather than focusing on specific parts of the body or tumour types.

Just as Register 4 provided us with a very simple way to play our part in breast cancer research, now we can play our part in “all cancer” research and fast-track results for all those affected and their families.

You will continue to only receive information about breast cancer research and we will be in touch with you shortly with more information about how you can extend your membership to also receive information about participating in all cancer projects should you wish to do this. As always, the decision to participate, or not, in Register4 projects is always yours.

Our new website launched 31st January, 2014. In the first instance, if you haven’t done so already, please visit https://www.register4.org.au/public/members-area/password-reset and reset your password to initiate your membership on the new site. You will be asked to enter your email address and submit; you’ll then receive a confirmation email to reset your password. Please make sure you process your confirmation email within 24 hours as it will expire for security purposes.

We look forward to continuing our work with you for breast cancer and, as we tackle all cancers, for the community and a healthier future.

Warmest wishes,

The Register4 Team
